Progressive overflow management with a scroll track utility

This issue’s utility helps you to deal with overflow content with a touch-friendly scroll track. It’s a tiny utility that packs a real punch and can be used in a variety of contexts.

This is a heavy website, but the genuine parallax effect is really tastefully done to provide a nice sense of depth. The page transitions are also very tasty indeed.

Auto-playing audio is a letdown, though.

The Shift

Although it’s a usability nightmare, the interaction on this site is really creative and is reminiscent of the old Flash days. The custom cursors are very well done, too.

Mr @cobra_winfrey is at it again with another smart demo. The easing is perfectly done.

CSS Grid Powered Style Guide

This is fantastic. Not just the layout, but the detail that’s gone into the various patterns and the overall look and feel.

@meowlivia_ is super talented.

Rachel Andrew

If you’re into CSS, you have to follow Rachel’s work. It’s the rules.

Her knowledge of CSS—especially layout, is outstanding. She’s also one of the greatest teachers of CSS out there.

I think Rachel is the busiest person I know, being an award winning speaker, the Editor in Chief of Smashing Magazine and a member of the CSS Working Group. She’s also almost permanently on a plane.

A very useful article by Chris Ferdinandi. I’m a fan of Chris because he focusses heavily on Vanilla JavaScript and core skills.

It’s also great to see someone from the JavaScript world writing about CSS.
