Welcome permalink

નમસ્તે! 👋

It’s raining here in Cheltenham today, so this issue is a nice, easy-on-the eyes issue. Hopefully, it’s sunny where you are ☀️

If you’re enjoying reading this newsletter as much as I’m enjoying creating it, please share it with your pals. It’ll be really appreciated if you do.

Enjoy!

CSS From Scratch

I’m working on a new book! Well, right now, but I will be later in the year, once we create some more content for Every Layout *.

CSS From Scratch will be a book that teaches you how to write CSS from day zero, which means that I presume that you’ve never opened a CSS file before. The aim is to get you a really solid core skillset that you can apply to the plethora of existing resources for learning CSS.

⚠️ Motion warning ⚠️

This is a fantastic tutorial by our mate, Michelle, on her excellent CSS blog.

I featured the demo that they are teaching you about, back in Issue #15, so it's great to see how to build it.

I like this, by Keenan. It's subtle as heck. I’m always a fan of state being communicated by loaders/icons, too.

Wobbly underline

This is very cheeky. A very nice effect indeed, by Mikael.

This is lush, by Camila. I love the colours and type so much.

[Self-Defined] Words I Wish You'd Stop Using

Everything Tatiana makes is gold, and this is no exception. Pay very close attention to the important content, too.

The eagle eyed amongst you will also notice that they’re using the media query-free grid back from Issue #6.

Navbar Nudging w/ Chris Coyier | THREEFRAMERS Collaborative Animation Tutorial

This is great. I love The Keyframers, and having Chris Coyier on as a guest was awesome to see.

I hope they do more like this. It’s a really good idea.
