Every Layout
I’m really excited to share a project that Heydon and I are working on together. This should hopefully be a valuable resource for those of you who want to build more flexible layouts that work in harmony with the browser, rather than against it.
There’s a lot more to come and we’re both working really hard to make the project as useful as it can possibly be for you all.
Make sure you signup for updates 💌

⚠️ Motion Warning ⚠️
It’s refreshing to see a bit of texture on the web, so this site made my eyes smile. Some of the colour contrast is very low, but I’m sure these folks will work it out.
It’ll be interesting to see how this project pans out.

Cassette Tape Loader
⚠️ Motion Warning ⚠️
Chris is one of my favourite animators and I don’t think I’ve shared any of his work yet, which is criminal.
The motion of this little cassette is smooth as butter. Lovely work.
Rocket Through Space
⚠️ Motion Warning ⚠️
It seemingly wouldn’t be an issue of this newsletter if it didn’t feature a rocket animation, recently, but I bloody love them!
This one is no exception. Very slick motion—especially the parallax stars—and a very appealing look and feel. Smashing work by Ryan.

A new (and easy) way to hide content accessibly
A very thorough article by Zell. Hiding content in an accessible manner is very important indeed and I’ve updated the utility class I have knocking around after reading this.

The State of CSS 2019
It’s here, The State Of men’s opinions CSS 2019!
As always, the demographic ratio is a shame, but it’s not a surprise, as only certain folks tend to fill in these surveys.
Still, there’s some beautiful data vis in here and as always, Sacha has designed a stunning site.
Sponsor permalink
This issue’s sponsor: my Patreon
This issue is sponsored by my Patreon. If you want to sponsor this newsletter, go ahead and back the position: sticky
tier.
I want to spend more time working on stuff that benefits the web community, but I also need to feed my family, so I've created a Patreon!
I’d really appreciate your support so I can help folks learn the web platform. The Patreon will hopefully reduce the amount of time I work on client projects and increase the amount of time I can spend working on projects like this one.
Any support will be appreciated and you can select as little as $1 per month!
Thank you permalink
That’s all, folks
